When BMW's M2 Dakar surfaced as an April Fools' joke in 2025, plenty of enthusiasts wished Munich would build it for real. Dubai-based tuner Zeus Offroad decided to do exactly that, using a BMW M240i Coupe as the donor for a genuine safari-spec sports car built to handle punishing desert terrain.
The M240i gains a 3-inch (76 mm) lift kit riding on Flatout adjustable coilovers, along with 17-inch wheels wrapped in chunky all-terrain rubber, a size down from the factory setup for better traction in sand. Aluminum front and rear bumpers integrate skid plates and recovery points, while bolt-on fender extensions and mud flaps keep debris off the bodywork. A Thule roof rack with LEDs and wind deflectors, plus a bespoke central dual exhaust, round out the visual signature.
Power stays factory-stock: a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six producing 382 hp (285 kW / 388 PS) sent to the rear wheels. Zeus Offroad hasn't disclosed pricing for the one-off build, and it's previously applied the same off-road treatment to a Porsche Panamera.
The build is a useful case study for HPP customers weighing lift kits, off-road wheel packages, and protective bodywork on their own BMW or Porsche models, proof that a well-executed suspension and armor upgrade can turn an everyday performance coupe into something far more versatile.
