The recently revealed Bovensiepen 05 GT — built by the family behind Alpina, now BMW's official high-performance sub-brand — only comes as an M5 Touring-based wagon. That left fans wondering how a sedan version might look, so digital artist Theophilus Chin rendered one himself, reviving the silhouette of the beloved Alpina B5 in modern four-door form.
The real 05 GT pairs Frank Stephenson's understated styling with serious hardware: an upgraded version of the M5's plug-in hybrid V8 making 790 hp and 811 lb-ft, helped by a reworked ECU, revised intake, and titanium Akrapovic exhaust. BMW quotes a 3.6-second 0-100 km/h time and a 305 km/h top speed for the wagon.
The render is a useful reminder of how much value upgraded ECU tuning, intake, and exhaust work can add to an already potent factory hybrid platform — gains of over 70 hp without touching the block. Whether or not Bovensiepen ever builds a sedan, the formula is one independent tuners can already replicate.
For BMW M5 owners in Taiwan, it's a clear signal that hybrid M cars are now firmly within reach of the same ECU, exhaust, and aero upgrade paths HPP already offers for combustion-only M models.
